HOST A COIN DRIVE OR FUNDRAISER

One of the biggest ways to support us is to host a coin drive or fund raising event with your school, church, friends, or other organization. 

We have found that coin drives are particularly effective because almost everyone has coins laying around that they wouldn’t mind giving for a good cause.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I host a Coin Drive?

  • Decide where you want to do a coin drive. This could be at a school, church, social club, amongst friends, or other organization. 
  • Present the idea to the leaders of the organization. Tell them what we do, share the website with them, and let them know you are interested in doing a coin drive to support us.
  • We will meet over video with you and the leaders you desire to help make the drive a success.
  • Choose a day at least 3 weeks in advance. 
  • Market, market, market.
  • We will provide you with all of the digital materials you need to let your organization know about the coin drive and how the money will be used. 
  • Make sure to market it through your organization’s social media pages.
  • On the day of the event, choose a wheelbarrow or other large wide object to put the coins. It’s best to use something wide rather than deep to show how much has been given. Also, use something large enough so that supporters have the desire to fill it up. If it’s only a large punch bowl, people won’t feel the need to fill it. 
  • Thank everyone who gives and talk to people about iSchool. Share with them what we do and how they can get involved, even kids. 
  • After the event, find a bank that has a coin sorter or sort the coins into rolls. 
  • Let the supporters know how much was raised! Thank them again!
  • Send your amazing donation. 

Can I host a different type of fund raiser?

Absolutely! Bake sale. Raffle. Run or walk a thon. You name it, we will help you organize it.
